About Acorn Stairlifts
Acorn Stairlifts is a British stair lift manufacturer whose US company, Acorn Stairlifts Inc., is based in Orlando, Florida. Unlike a dealer, Acorn makes, sells, installs and services its own lifts, so the company that surveys your stairs is the same one that builds and maintains the lift.
Its US range has three models: the Acorn 130 for straight stairs, the Acorn 180 for curved stairs, and an outdoor version of the 130 with a weather-resistant cover. Every Acorn lift fixes to the stair treads rather than the wall, so there are no structural changes to your home.
Acorn is known for speed. Straight lifts can often be fitted the day after your survey, and the Acorn 180's modular rail means a curved lift can be installed in a matter of days rather than the weeks a made-to-measure rail usually takes. Acorn calls this its FastTrack service.
Why people choose Acorn Stairlifts
Fits to the stairs, not the wall
The rail fixes to the stair treads, so installation is quick and leaves no damage to walls.
FastTrack installation
Straight lifts can often be fitted the next day; the 180's modular rail lets curved lifts go in within days.
Hinged rail option
Where the rail would block a doorway at the foot of the stairs, a hinged section folds out of the way, with an automatic powered hinge on the 180.
Backup battery
Runs on batteries that charge from the mains, so the lift keeps working in a power cut.
Safety built in
Seat belt, folding footrest, diagnostic display and remote controls come as standard.
One company throughout
Acorn surveys, builds, installs and services its own lifts, with no third-party dealer in between.
